Impact protection: Shock-absorbent surfacing systems

These kind of safety surfaces are for public and private playgrounds, for multipurpose sports facilities and similar.

The Uni En1 177 directive refers in particular to the employ in the playgrounds and imposes that the paving used for this purpose must have specific characteristics of shock absorbance in order to avoid that the head of a child sustains severe and permanent damages, when he falls down from different heights. This maximal limit is conventionally indicated with the parameter HIC 1000 (Head Injury Criterion).

The innovative design of the lower surface allows to optimise its capacity to absorb the impact and the drainage of the dripped water through the paving itself.
